Make sure you head to Australia’s capital later this year for the Australian Dental Association (NSW) biennial convention.

The event—which is being held on 13-15 September at the National Convention Centre in Canberra— will bring together members of the dental profession, dental team and industry to learn about new innovations, techniques, technology and materials.

The theme of the convention is ‘Dentistry – Full of Surprises’ so delegates should expect the unexpected in what promises to be a stimulating and informative event consisting of a scientific program, a large trade display and New Orleans-themed social events.

The scientific program, developed in conjunction with the Dental Assistants Professional Association (DAPA), will feature many local speakers and will open with a keynote presentation by international speaker Daniel Wismeijer, Professor of Oral Implantology and Prosthetic Dentistry at ACTA Amsterdam. He will discuss new digital technologies in dentistry.

The convention will also deliver one of ADA NSW’s largest convention trade displays with up to 50 companies from the dental industry. Attendees will have ample opportunity to visit the trade display and discuss the newest products and services available to dental practices.

In addition, several educational streams will be available throughout the two-day program providing training on a range of topics within the scope of dental care, plus there will be a series of customised workshops provided by leading dental industry experts.

“Our convention will be the best ever staged by ADA NSW and is set at the best time of year, early spring, to showcase Canberra and its surrounds,” convention local organising committee chair Dr Murray Thomas said.

Early Bird registrations are currently open for the ADA NSW Convention, so why not book in advance to ensure you get first choice of the workshops and programs the convention has to offer. Take advantage of the subsidised registration fee before the early bird closing date of 31 May.
