There is a new leadership team at the Australian Dental Association New South Wales (ADA NSW), with the recent election of Dr Mark Morrin as president and Dr Cathleen Dong as vice-president.
Dr Morrin is taking over from Dr Dominic Aouad, and Dr Dong from Dr Jodie Olivier.
Dr Mark Morrin owns and operates a large private practice in Newcastle, employing associate dentists, oral health therapists and hygienists. He has held several roles within ADA NSW including divisional representative, and he has been on committees, the Council, and the Board for the past three years.
He was also on the Federal ADA Council for three years. Dr Morrin is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is registered as a student at law.
“I am passionate about dentistry, ADA NSW, and the people we represent. It is my privilege to lead the organisation,” Dr Morrin said.
Dr Cathleen Dong has developed a diverse career spanning various sectors within the dental profession. She currently works in private practice, while also serving as an ADA NSW Board director and councillor. She has contributed across multiple committees and is the current chair of the Education and Research Committee.
Dr Dong is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has also been actively involved in teaching as a clinical educator with both Charles Sturt University and The University of Sydney.
“I am committed to further enhancing ADA NSW as the professional home for all members, providing connection, support, and development opportunities at every stage of their career,” Dr Dong said.
