Organised by Dental Protection, in conjunction with Schulke, the Premier Award is an annual risk management competition with a total prize fund of $9,750.

The winners of the 2010 awards were announced at the Premier Symposium held in London in late December 2010.

Sarah is based in East Malvern and works at Caulfield Park Dentist. Part of her prize included a flight to London to receive her award. Sarah said, “Winning the Award has given me great encouragement to continue researching and writing and developing my career as a hygienist, and hope one day I can pass my knowledge onto others.”

This year’s competition was of a very high calibre and Trevor Burke, Chair of Dental Protection, who presented the awards took time to encourage dentists and dental care professionals from across all 70 countries where DPL has members to participate again next year.

Kevin Lewis, Dental Director of Dental Protection said, “The entries to this year’s Awards have once again exceeded our expectations, with so many different projects being submitted by a wide variety of dental professionals. The Awards focus on raising the awareness and management of risks within the practice, and we are delighted that so many of this year’s entries were so relevant to many of the hot topics in dentistry”
