Oral Surgery – Module 1

Oral surgery is often confronting, especially in a patient who is experiencing pain and may have some complexities in medical history or in the proposed surgical procedure. This course is designed to provide those with limited oral surgery experience with the opportunity to improve their confidence when practicing general surgical techniques.

Participants will be able to hone their skills under the close supervision of two highly skilled Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons. This course will cover:

– Introduction to surgical instruments
– Management of medical conditions.

This hands-on course will use anatomical models and cadaveric animal specimens to practice the following:

– Suturing techniques
– Surgical techniques (including, but not limited to guttering, division elevation maxillary, flap design, root tip retrieval, abscess drainage).
