At its annual general meeting last Friday, the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) elected Phil Jolly of Ivoclar Vivadent as national president for a two-year term.

In accepting the appointment, Jolly said his focus would be to deliver the outcomes set out in the 2016-20 ADIA Strategic Plan—to be achieved by providing services to member businesses to foster growth and job creation and secure a sustainable industry.

“At ADIA, we recognise the symbiotic relationship that exists between the dental industry and dental profession. For this reason, our work will be focused on energising the stakeholders that have a shared interest in delivering initiatives that help our community achieve optimal oral healthcare outcomes.”

As the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of dental products, Jolly said that—with the newly elected ADIA vice-president Craig Young of A-dec International—he is looking forward to working with the ADIA board, staff and members to raise the profile of Australia’s dental industry.

“The outcomes of ADIA’s new strategy include a raised awareness of the new and innovative patient treatment pathways the dental industry offers Australia’s oral health community,” Jolly said.

“The take-up of these new products depends on the sustainability of dental practices, so this will be a major focus of our work over the next five years.”
