The 10th edition of the Australian Injectable Drugs Handbook (AIDH10) features a brand-new Infusion Rate Calculator in its extensively redesigned digital app, which was recently launched.
The new, purpose-built Infusion Rate Calculator supports and streamlines complex point-of-care workflows for health professionals preparing or administering injectable drugs. By helping reduce the need for multi-step calculations, they will be able to focus on delivering the best face-to-face patient care more efficiently.
The Infusion Rate Calculator is one of many features in the new AIDH10 digital app. With a redesigned interface, the app delivers enhancements to search, offering an experience that’s fresh, user-friendly and intuitive as it provides clinical guidance at the point of care.
The 10th edition of AIDH is the first version to be published under a new partnership between Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) and Therapeutic Guidelines Limited. AIDH10’s content has been developed, reviewed and updated by pharmacists and nurses working with AdPha. The new app has been designed and developed by Therapeutic Guidelines Limited, and is being hosted on the Therapeutic Guidelines platform
The new dedicated AIDH10 app features extensively reviewed and updated information on more than 500 injectable drugs, including 29 newly added for the 10th edition.
Clinically important content updates include new guidance on the preparation and administration of the first antimicrobial dose for adults with sepsis across seven drug monographs. As sepsis is a known potential cause of avoidable and preventable deaths, this new information is particularly important to support safe clinical practice.
The 10th edition of AIDH will build on its reputation as one of the most respected, trusted and loved resources used by frontline health professionals for nearly 30 years, while bringing it into a new era of digital clinical support.
