Reality check: safety and hygiene still a top priority

21.DBAWith the 2016 edition of the Dental Professionals’ Guide to Safety & Hygiene set to be released this month, the dental community is reminded of the importance of safety and hygiene.

The guide, developed by Pro-Visual Publishing in cooperation with the National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) Foundation and Safe Work Australia, is an invaluable tool for dental practitioners, providing useful insight into workplace risks and how to prevent them.

As well as covering a range of topics, including infection control and guidelines when working with hazardous chemicals, this year’s guide also incorporates an interactive element.

The Pro-Vis AR app, available for iPhone and Android, has a specialised Augmented Reality (AR) feature. By using this feature, dental professionals are able to scan over sections in the guide for relevant resources.

The AR feature provides an efficient method for management and staff to locate the required information.

Over the years, the guides have proved to be a vital resource within the dental industry, ensuring workers return home exactly the way they left for work.

As in previous years, the Dental Professionals’ Guide to Safety & Hygiene is distributed for free across the industry.
