Be sure to save the date for this year’s OHAA 2026 Congress being held on 15-17 October in Hobart, Tasmania.

This Congress by the Oral Health Association of Australia marks a significant moment for the profession. In 2026, the OHAA will celebrate  60 years of dental therapy and 30 years of oral health therapy in Australia. It is considered especially fitting that this milestone is honoured in Tasmania—the birthplace of dental therapy education in Australia.

This year’s theme ‘Illuminating Oral Health under Southern Skies’  draws inspiration from Tasmania’s natural wonders, including the  Aurora Australis. Like the southern lights, the Congress—as described by the OHAA—”represents clarity, brilliance, and transformation—illuminating the progress of our profession while guiding the path forward through research, innovation, and collaboration”.

The Congress will feature respected speakers, thought leaders, and cutting-edge research, and welcomes oral health practitioners, educators, researchers, and industry partners from across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific region.

A highlight of the event will be the  Aurora Australis–themed Gala Dinner, an evening designed to celebrate the profession’s milestones in a memorable and elegant setting. This special event will honour history, recognise excellence, and bring delegates together for what is promised to be “an unforgettable night under the Southern Lights”.
