Smilo.ai founder and CEO Dr Padmar Gadiyar (Bite’s September 2019 covergirl) has been awarded the Outstanding Digital Health Service Award at the 2026 Patient’s Choice Awards.

Presented by Patients Australia and proudly sponsored by Telstra, this award recognises individuals and organisations driving innovation in digital health and improving outcomes for patients.

Smilo.ai have developed an Al powered oral health screening tool for screening and early detection in aged care and disability services.

“This recognition is an important milestone for Smilo.ai and reflects the progress we are making in bringing preventive oral healthcare into Australian healthcare settings,” Dr Gadiyar said.

“For us, this award is more than recognition of the technology. It validates the growing need for accessible, preventive and scalable oral health infrastructure across dental, aged care, disability, community health and broader healthcare systems.

“What makes it more special is this was awarded to us by Telstra Health who support 60 per cent of aged cares in Australia.

“As Smilo.ai continues to grow, we remain focused on converting this momentum into commercial scale—strengthening enterprise partnerships, expanding deployments and building our presence across Australia and international markets,” Dr Gadiyar added.
