Teeth on Wheels was recently awarded the Youth in Business Award at the Victorian Small Business Awards held at the National Gallery of Victoria.
The accolade celebrated the mobile dental clinic’s impact on youth health and their outstanding growth across the state.
Brothers Joseph and Rami Zeid established the mobile dental clinic in 2015 and have since partnered with over 250 schools to treat more than 80,000 children.
“We’re obviously grateful for the recognition, and what struck me was that it represents a dental organisation being acknowledged at a broader business and community level, rather than within the profession itself,” Teeth on Wheels founding director Dr Joseph Zeid said.
“As a profession, dentistry does some remarkable work, particularly when it comes to improving access to care, community engagement and innovative service delivery. It’s encouraging to see those contributions recognised beyond the traditional healthcare space.”
The team employs over 35 dental health professionals, delivering accessible, child-friendly care onsite at schools and childcare centres.
The Victorian Small Business Awards celebrate small and family businesses and their extraordinary contributions to communities and the economy.
