GC EverX Flow is a flowable composite that’s great for dentine replacement, bulk filling and core build-ups. It’s reinforced with short fibres so the strength is greater than normal flowable composite.
What’s good about it
It comes in translucent and opaque shades but because it’s mainly for dentine replacement, it should be covered with a normal composite. I’ve been using EverX Flow for the past couple of years for most of my larger fillings, anything from three to five millimetres depth. It has a syringe delivery system that allows it to be placed accurately.
Its superior strength is its strong point. If a patient has broken a tooth, a filling out of a back molar or needs amalgam replaced, and it’s a choice between a crown and a large filling, EverX Flow has the strength to work effectively in these situations. Normal composites aren’t strong enough, but the fibres in EverX make it fracture resistant and long-lasting.
If a fracture line should start, the fibres that fill the space are pointed in different directions so they stop the propagation of the crack. It’s a reliable product that’s easy to place and provides long-term restorations.
What’s not so good
While the syringe delivery system is generally effective, the last few millimetres of composite is wasted. The fibres in the composite make it so thick, it’s almost impossible for it to come out of the nozzle. It’s just a small amount of wastage but is a bit annoying.
