TiBase stands for titanium base, a component used as a connector between the implant fixture and the crown.
What’s good about it
Using TiBase in conjunction with a CEREC-milled crown streamlines the implant restoration process by eliminating the need for external dental labs. With tools like PrimeScan and PrimeMill, the entire workflow—from scanning to designing, milling, and fitting—can be completed in a single day. For busy patients, this same-day service is a major advantage, minimising the need for multiple visits and time off work.
From a clinic’s perspective, the ability to produce and deliver precise, custom-fitted crowns in-house improves efficiency and patient satisfaction. The predictability and accuracy of outcomes using TiBase and digital tools make this system an attractive option for many dental practices.
It’s particularly effective for simple cases such as single-unit restorations with straightforward angulation.
What’s not so good
Despite its many benefits, TiBase is not well-suited for complex implant cases, especially those involving difficult angulations. In such situations, collaborating with a dental laboratory is advisable to ensure optimal results.
Additionally, the initial investment in the required equipment, such as PrimeScan and PrimeMill, can be significant. However, the technology is also well-suited for fabrication of tooth-supported crowns and bridges, further offsetting the cost over time due to the improved workflow and reduced reliance on external labs.
