The Henry Schein Cares Foundation is offering two grants to enable Australian dental professionals to volunteer with a charity that has been working in Tanzania for the last 14 years.
The mission of Bridge2Aid, which originated in the UK, is to deliver intensive practical emergency dental and oral health training to rural health workers in Tanzania. To date, volunteer dentists have trained over 500 local health workers, providing access to urgent care for more than five million people.
In 2016, Bridge2Aid set up an Australian local branch (Bridge2Aid Australia) with the aim of recruiting volunteers from the Australian dental community. To this end, Bridge2Aid Australia is running a program in August 2019 that will be completely staffed by Australian volunteers—and you could be one of them with the help of a grant.
