Associate Professor Matthew Hopcraft has announced his resignation as CEO from the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch.

“I have valued my involvement with the profession over the past 20 years across committees, and state and federal council, as the ADAVB president and most recently as the CEO, and am immensely proud of leading an amazing and dedicated team in supporting our members to improve the oral health of all Victorians,” A/Prof Hopcraft said.

A/Prof Hopcraft has accepted a new role as Associate Professor in Professional Practice at the Melbourne Dental School where he will continue his public health advocacy and research and, as he said, “embedding social responsibility and professionalism, communication and leadership, critical thinking and health promotion into the dental curriculum for the next generation of oral health practitioners”.

“It’s been a pleasure to give oral health a voice, particularly given the challenges so many people face in accessing dental care. Although I am changing roles, my commitment to advocacy won’t change.”

A/Prof Hopcraft’s final day at the ADAVB will be Friday 10 November 2023.
