Nominations for the 2016 Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) Public Oral Health Awards are now open. You are invited to nominate a colleague, manager or your local public dental professional—anyone within the Victoria public oral health sector who you find inspiring and has contributed greatly.

“So many within the Victorian public oral health workforce go above and beyond their jobs to do extraordinary things in their community every day,” said a DHSV spokesperson. “We need your help to find them.”

The categories for the Awards are:

  • Star of Public Dentistry—recognises staff in the Victorian public dental sector who have gone above and beyond their roles to improve oral health.
  • Oral Health Project of the Year—recognises public oral health projects that have improved the oral health of the Victorian community.
  • Public Dental Clinic of the Year—includes all DHSV agencies working to improve oral health in Victoria.
  • Community Oral Health Champion—recognises individuals for their contribution to the Victorian public health sector, through a volunteer capacity or in partnership with DHSV staff.

Nominations for the 2016 Public Oral Health Awards close Friday 30 September, 5pm. Winners will be recognised at the 2016 DHSV annual general meeting and will receive funding of $5,000 to attend a health conference of their choice to continue their professional development.
