Some of Victoria’s most dedicated dental professionals were recently honoured at the 2016 Public Oral Health Awards for their commitment to public dental services.
The awards, presented last month by Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV), are given annually to dental professionals and volunteers who go above and beyond to care for those Victorians most in need of dental treatment and care.
The 2016 winners are:
- Community Oral Health Champion: Diana Brown, EACH Social and Community Health
- Public Dental Clinic of the Year: Ballarat Health Services
- Oral Health Project of the Year: Keeping Kids Smiling, Link Health and Community
- Star of Public Dentistry: Dr Martin Hall, North Richmond Community Health
Host of 7TWO’s Vasili’s Garden series, Vasili Kanidiadis, was also announced as DHSV’s 2017 Smile of the Year.
DHSV chief executive officer, Dr Deborah Cole, said the nominees were of a high calibre and showcased the meaningful work done across the state.
“I’m honoured to be working alongside exceptional people who are doing great things for public oral health in Victoria,” Dr Cole said.
“Congratulations to all the winners and finalists. There is so much passion and talent within the public oral health sector, and it is great to be able to recognise that important work.”
